You must register on the Financial Service Providers Register (FSPR) if you intend to offer financial services through your business. You have to register your business even if the financial services will only be provided to overseas clients.

Failing to register on the FSPR could result in prosecution under New Zealand’s laws. Registering on the FSPR may not be as straight forward if you offer financial services only to overseas customers from your New Zealand office.
